WAA Cup - 28 Jan

WAA Cup - 28 Jan 2023

Randwick are pleased to be hosting Round One of the inaugural WAA Cup in January 2023!

The WAA Cup is designed to provide aspiring archers the opportunity to gain experience in ranking rounds and match play. There are three WAA Cup events scheduled in the 2023 shooting season (through to the AGM date), and Randwick are hosting the first of these on 28th January.  Archers are encouraged to take part in as many WAA Cup events as they like, with points to be awarded at each completed shoot which will contribute to the overall ranking of archers at the end of the season.
e.g. 50 points for 1st place, 48 points for 2nd etc.
At the AGM each year, a cup will be awarded to the individual in each division (Recurve, Compound, Barebow recurve, and Longbow) with the highest total points scored. Medals will be awarded for 2nd and 3rd place in each division.  Archers in the Novice and Development Classes will shoot at their ANZ ranking round distances, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will receive a certificate to recognise their achievement.

Rounds:
One WA 720 ranking round, followed by non elimination match play.

Classes: Archers may compete in the following classes:
Open, Junior (U21), Development, and Novice.
All classes will be mixed gender.

Divisions & Distances:
Compound archers in the Open and Junior classes will shoot on an 80cm face at 50m; Development at 45m, and Novice at 35m.
Recurve archers in Open and Junior classes will shoot a 122cm face at 70m; Development at 45m, and Novice at 35m.
Barebow recurve, and Longbow will be shot at 50m on a 122cm face for Open and Junior classes, 35m for Development and 20m for Novice.
Top three in each division (gold, silver, bronze) would be awarded certificates on the day.
